Good morning class! Today is Monday and we have a fun lesson planned for you. We are going to learn about the different types of clouds and how they form.

First, let’s start with a quick review. Can anyone tell me what a cloud is? (Pause for student responses). That’s right, a cloud is a collection of tiny water droplets or ice crystals in the atmosphere.

Now, let’s talk about the different types of clouds. There are four main types of clouds: cumulus, stratus, cirrus, and nimbus.

Cumulus clouds are big and fluffy, and often look like cotton balls. They usually mean fair weather, but can also bring thunderstorms.

Stratus clouds are low and flat, and often cover the entire sky. They usually mean overcast or rainy weather.

Cirrus clouds are high and thin, and often look like feathers. They usually mean fair weather, but can also indicate a change in weather.

Nimbus clouds are dark and heavy, and often bring rain or snow.

Now, let’s do an activity to help us remember the different types of clouds. We are going to make our own cloud mobiles!

Materials needed: - Construction paper - Scissors - String - Hole punch - Markers

Instructions: 1. Cut out cloud shapes from the construction paper. You can make as many as you want, but make sure to have at least one of each type of cloud. 2. Use the markers to draw the different types of clouds on the paper. 3. Punch a hole in the top of each cloud. 4. Cut a piece of string for each cloud, and tie it through the hole. 5. Tie the other end of the string to a hanger or stick to create a mobile.

Once you have finished making your cloud mobiles, we will hang them up in the classroom and review the different types of clouds.

Great job, class! You have learned about the different types of clouds and made your own cloud mobiles. Have a great Monday!
