Class: Present Perfect in Spoken English Objective: Students will be able to use Present Perfect in a spoken way.

Materials needed: Whiteboard, markers, handouts with practice exercises

Activity 1: Warm-up (5 minutes) - Begin the class by asking students to share one interesting thing they have done recently using the Present Perfect tense. - Encourage students to ask follow-up questions to their classmates’ responses. - Write down some examples of the Present Perfect tense on the board.

Activity 2: Presentation of the topic (10 minutes) - Introduce the concept of Present Perfect tense, explaining that it is used to talk about past actions or experiences that have a connection to the present. - Provide examples and explain the structure of the Present Perfect tense (subject + have/has + past participle). - Highlight the use of time expressions such as “just,” “already,” “yet,” and “ever” in Present Perfect sentences. - Clarify any doubts or questions from the students.

Activity 3: Practice with the topic (15 minutes) - Divide the class into pairs or small groups. - Distribute handouts with a variety of sentences in the Present Perfect tense. - Instruct students to discuss the sentences with their partners and decide whether they are true or false. - Encourage students to explain their reasoning using the Present Perfect tense. - Monitor the groups and provide assistance as needed.

Activity 4: Production of the grammar (10 minutes) - Ask students to individually write five sentences using the Present Perfect tense. - Instruct them to include time expressions in their sentences. - After they finish writing, have students pair up and share their sentences with each other. - Encourage students to provide feedback and suggestions to their partners.

Activity 5: Assessment of knowledge (5 minutes) - Conduct a quick review of the Present Perfect tense by asking students to provide examples or explain its usage. - Ask a few volunteers to share their sentences from Activity 4 with the whole class. - Provide feedback and correct any errors. - Summarize the main points of the lesson and address any remaining questions or concerns.

Note: The duration of each activity can be adjusted based on the students’ level and pace of learning.
