Plot Assessment: 1. Did I include a clear beginning, middle, and end in my story? 2. Did I introduce the main characters and setting in the beginning? 3. Did I include a problem or conflict that the characters faced? 4. Did I include details and events that helped build up the story? 5. Did I resolve the problem or conflict in the end? 6. Did I use descriptive language to make my story more interesting? 7. Did I use dialogue to show what the characters are saying? 8. Did I use transition words to connect my ideas and events? 9. Did I revise and edit my story to make sure it flows well?
Spelling and Punctuation Assessment: 1. Did I capitalize the first letter of each sentence? 2. Did I capitalize proper nouns (names of people, places, etc.)? 3. Did I use end punctuation (periods, question marks, exclamation marks) correctly? 4. Did I use commas to separate items in a list? 5. Did I use apostrophes correctly in contractions (e.g., don’t, can’t)? 6. Did I spell common words correctly? 7. Did I use phonetic spelling for unfamiliar words? 8. Did I use quotation marks correctly when writing dialogue? 9. Did I proofread my work for spelling and punctuation errors?
