Objective: To engage students in a speaking activity about travelling abroad, sharing personal experiences, and discussing the benefits and challenges of exploring different countries.
Instructions: 1. Divide the class into pairs or small groups. 2. Provide each group with a set of discussion questions (see below). 3. Allow students some time to discuss the questions within their groups. 4. After the discussion, ask each group to share their thoughts and experiences with the whole class. 5. Encourage students to actively listen and ask follow-up questions to promote further discussion.
Discussion Questions: 1. Have you ever traveled abroad? If yes, where did you go? If no, where would you like to go and why? 2. What was the most memorable experience you had while traveling abroad? Share the details with your group. 3. What are some benefits of traveling to different countries? How does it broaden our perspective? 4. Did you face any challenges while traveling abroad? How did you overcome them? 5. How do you think traveling abroad can contribute to personal growth and development? 6. Share a funny or interesting cultural misunderstanding or miscommunication you experienced while traveling. 7. What advice would you give to someone who is planning to travel abroad for the first time? 8. Do you prefer traveling alone or with a group? Why? 9. How do you think traveling abroad can impact one’s understanding of global issues and cultural diversity? 10. Share a travel destination that you would highly recommend to others and explain why.
