John had always been nostalgic about his high school days. He often found himself reminiscing about the good old times he had spent with his friends. One day, he decided to take a trip down memory lane and visit his old high school. He wanted to see how much it had changed since he had graduated.
As he drove towards the school, he noticed that the roads were flooded. He thought it was strange, but he continued driving. When he finally reached the school, he was shocked to see that it had been completely submerged in water. The entire building was underwater, and the only thing that remained was the top of the flagpole.
John couldn’t believe his eyes. He had so many memories of this place, and now it was gone. He sat in his car for a few minutes, trying to process what he was seeing. He wondered how this could have happened.
He got out of his car and walked towards the edge of the water. He could see the outline of the building beneath the water. He remembered the classrooms, the hallways, and the gymnasium. He could almost hear the sound of the bell ringing and the chatter of his classmates.
John felt a sense of loss and sadness. He had hoped to relive some of his old memories, but now they were all gone. He stood there for a while, lost in thought.
As he turned to leave, he noticed a group of teenagers standing nearby. They were laughing and taking pictures of the submerged school. John walked over to them and asked what had happened.
One of the teenagers explained that the school had been built on a floodplain, and when the nearby river overflowed, it had flooded the entire area. The school had been abandoned for years, and now it was a popular spot for divers and tourists.
John listened to the teenager’s explanation and felt a sense of closure. He realized that his memories of the school would always be with him, even if the physical building was gone. He took one last look at the submerged school and walked back to his car, feeling a sense of peace.
