Title: The Wonderful World of Butterflies

Objective: To introduce children to the world of butterflies and their life cycle.

Materials: - Pictures of different types of butterflies - Butterfly life cycle chart - Butterfly coloring sheets - Butterfly books

Introduction (5 minutes): - Show pictures of different types of butterflies and ask children if they have ever seen one before. - Explain that butterflies are insects that have beautiful wings and come in many different colors and patterns.

Butterfly Life Cycle (10 minutes): - Show the butterfly life cycle chart and explain the four stages: egg, caterpillar, chrysalis, and butterfly. - Use props or pictures to demonstrate each stage and ask children to repeat the names of each stage.

Butterfly Anatomy (10 minutes): - Show a picture of a butterfly and point out its different body parts (head, thorax, abdomen, wings, antennae). - Explain the purpose of each body part and how they help the butterfly survive.

Butterfly Activities (15 minutes): - Provide butterfly coloring sheets for children to color and decorate. - Read butterfly books to the class and encourage children to ask questions and share their thoughts. - If possible, bring in live butterflies or caterpillars for children to observe and learn from.

Conclusion (5 minutes): - Recap the main points of the lesson and ask children what they learned about butterflies. - Encourage children to continue learning about butterflies and nature in their everyday lives.
