but not too scared.

Good morning, Year 3! I’m sure you must be wondering why I’m here in your classroom today- well, it’s because today we are going to take a journey back in time… All the way back to the time of the Stone Age! Can you believe it?

The Stone Age was a wild and dangerous time with no modern conveniences like computers and cars and electricity. So if we were to time travel back to those days, what would life be like for a Stone Age child? I’m here to tell you all about it!

First of all, life was hard for Stone Age children. We had to hunt and gather food for our families and we were constantly on the lookout for danger. We had to beware of wild animals like wolves and bears, as well as other fierce enemies like rival clans of humans.

We used spears and bow and arrows to hunt for food, like boars and deer. We also used gathering tools like digging sticks to look for roots, nuts, and seeds. We had to be careful to not get too close to wild animals like wolves and bears, because they could attack us!

Stone Age children were also constantly on the look out for natural disasters. We had to be ready to take shelter in case of a big storm coming, or if the rivers started to flood. This would be a scary time, and our hearts would be pounding as we ran to find safe shelter!

But, don’t worry! Despite the danger, there were still some fun activities for Stone Age children to do. We loved to play games, like hide and seek and other tag games. We also loved exploring, like looking for new caves or different plants and animals.

So that’s a little bit about how life was like for a Stone Age child. As you can see, it was a time full of adventure and danger. I hope this gave you a better understanding of how different life was back then, and made you feel a bit scared!
