Assessment:

Evaluate the students’ understanding and application of the skills learned from the apps through the following methods:

• Observe their use of Size Space and Explain Paper during the research process. Take note of their ability to effectively search for sources, extract key information, paraphrase texts, and understand complex concepts.

• Review the students’ research papers and assess their ability to incorporate information from the sources, present a clear and logical argument, and properly cite their references. Use the rubric to evaluate the papers and provide constructive feedback.

• Monitor the students’ peer-review process and assess their ability to provide meaningful feedback to their peers.

• Assess the students’ ability to revise their papers based on the feedback received and submit a final version that demonstrates improvement.

Extension:

To further enhance the students’ research skills, you can introduce additional tools and techniques, such as citation management software (e.g., Zotero, Mendeley) for organizing and citing sources, and advanced search strategies for conducting comprehensive literature reviews. You can also encourage the students to present their research findings through presentations or posters to develop their communication skills.
