Starter Activity:

  1. Divide the students into small groups of 3-4 members.
  2. Provide each group with a set of index cards or sticky notes.
  3. On each index card or sticky note, write one of the following terms: Home, International, Direct, Indirect, and Mail order.
  4. Distribute the cards randomly among the groups, ensuring that each group has at least one card representing each source of buying.
  5. Instruct the groups to discuss and brainstorm examples of each source of buying written on their cards.
  6. Give the groups 5-7 minutes to come up with as many examples as possible.
  7. After the given time, ask each group to share their examples with the rest of the class.
  8. As a class, discuss and categorize the examples provided by each group under the appropriate source of buying.
  9. Encourage students to ask questions and engage in a discussion about the advantages and disadvantages of each source of buying.
  10. Summarize the discussion by highlighting the key points and emphasizing the importance of understanding different sources of buying in commerce.
