Active voice is a grammatical structure in which the subject of a sentence performs the action expressed by the verb. In active voice, the subject is the doer of the action.

Example: “John ate the apple.”

Passive voice, on the other hand, is a grammatical structure in which the subject of a sentence receives the action expressed by the verb. In passive voice, the subject is the receiver of the action.

Example: “The apple was eaten by John.”

In passive voice, the focus is on the action rather than the doer of the action.
