There is no difference between centigrade and Celsius. They are two different names for the same temperature scale. The term “centigrade” was used to describe the scale where 0 degrees represented the freezing point of water and 100 degrees represented the boiling point of water, with the interval between them divided into 100 equal parts. In 1948, the scale was officially renamed to “Celsius” in honor of the Swedish astronomer Anders Celsius, who first proposed the scale. So, centigrade and Celsius are interchangeable terms for the same temperature measurement system.
