Chapter 1

Why am I here in Venice? Only hours ago, I boarded a most remarkable and curious steamboat, led by a strange captain and a dazzling crew. The voyage was not an easy one, though the time was only to a few days, I encountered terrible storms and dreaded travelling conditions. I had never seen the world so intimidating and filled with danger. After all the hardships, I am finally here in this great and ancient city.

Chapter 2

The city of Venice shows no signs of slowing down. Vendors selling their wares in the streets, boats moored along the canals, and the constant wave of foreign faces. Everywhere I turn there is something to explore and uncover. The city is alive and full of excitement. One thing that I find of particular interest is the large amount of churches and small piazzas that one can find. It is quite remarkable how much history is present here in Venice.

Chapter 3

After gathering my luggage, I made straight for the Palazzo d’Inverno, a grand estate located on the other side of the Grand Canal. With the palazzo being so large, it was a bit hard to find my way around. But, I eventually figured out where my room was located. To my surprise, the room was surprisingly large and well-furnished. It provided me with a handful of amenities that I was not expecting.

Chapter 4

My first impression of Venice was one tinted with a little bit of apprehension. I had never been to such a big and bustling city. But, after just a day of sightseeing and being in the city, I found my grip of calmness growing. Everywhere I looked, people were friendly and kind; they didn’t seem to mind a foreigner in their midst. Soon, I started to feel at home in this great and ancient city.

Chapter 5

One of the things that I have grown to truly appreciate about Venice is its weather. Though it is sometimes a bit too hot, or too cold, or otherwise, the conditions tend to be quite pleasant and temperate. The occasional breeze helps to keep the humidity at bay, allowing me to really enjoy the sights of the city.

Chapter 6

Interesting characters abound in this part of the world. I have already befriended a few, including a young man that goes by the name of Santo. We do not speak the same language, but we seem to understand each other nonetheless. He has already shown me a few of the secrets of the city. I am grateful for his kindness.

That’s all for now. This is an adventure that I do not want to forget. I will certainly mark my calendar so that I may come back soon!
