Procedure:

Introduction (10 minutes)

  1. Begin the lesson by asking students if they have ever seen or heard a violin before.
  2. Show pictures of violins and ask students to identify the parts of the instrument.
  3. Write the names of the parts on the whiteboard.

Body (40 minutes)

  1. Demonstrate how to hold the violin and bow.
  2. Show students how to apply rosin to the bow.
  3. Use the tuner to tune the violin.
  4. Show students how to read sheet music.
  5. Play a simple tune on the violin and ask students to identify the notes.
  6. Have students take turns playing the violin and practicing the tune.
  7. Provide feedback and guidance as needed.

Conclusion (10 minutes)

  1. Ask students to describe the sound of the violin.
  2. Review the parts of the violin and their functions.
