Today was the day; we arrived in Venice. It has been a difficult journey, leaving our home in Germany and leaving the memories behind. We ditched our train near the old market square, there we had the chance to meet Mo and his dog Pluto. He was kind enough to take us in and allowed us to stay with him in his houseboat. We had planned to stay for a day or two, but Mo mentioned staying for longer as he had some plans that he could use our help with.
The boat is small and we’re all sharing the same bed. But, Mo is a warm and welcoming host and has even gone out of his way to prepare a delicious meal for us.
All of this wouldn’t have been possible without the three mysterious kids that saved us from the police earlier in the day. Apparently, they’re part of some kind of gang that operates around Venice and come from a place called the ‘Thief Lord’s Hideaway’. We’ll be sure to investigate this place further another day, hopefully it will be just as exciting as the rest of Venice.
Although Mo doesn’t appear to have a lot of money, he is accommodating, and he said he would help us find a place to stay. Tomorrow, we’ll explore the city and see what kind of job opportunities are available. In the meantime, we get to experience the beauty and culture of this majestic city.
It’s already been an adventure and I can’t wait to see what the days ahead have in store for us.
Sincerely, Prosper
