Margaret Preston, an artist so grand, Her inspiration came from her native land. The beauty of Australia, so vast and wide, Filled her heart with joy and artistic pride.

With paintbrush in hand, she would create, Using different methods, oh so great! She loved to experiment, to try something new, Using bold colors and patterns, too.

In her art, she used structural devices, Like lines and shapes, which were her choices. She would carefully arrange them on her canvas, Creating artworks that were truly fabulous.

But sadly, her work was not always right, For she appropriated indigenous culture, out of sight. She used their symbols and designs without permission, Which caused harm and hurt, causing division.

So let us learn from Margaret Preston’s art, To appreciate and respect, right from the start. Let’s celebrate diversity and cultures so vast, Creating art that brings us together, at last.
