Verse 1: Pop, crackle, sizzle and sashay, The sky is lit for the start of new day The Earth is lit with showy delight It’s the first of January, a fireworks bright.

Verse 2: Flashes like rays sweeping through the sky Lighting the night, no one’s asking why The bright display is something to behold Such beauty, oh what stories it can unfold.

Verse 3: Perfumed air fills swirls and licks Smoke and sparks paint a skyline that sticks Burnt perfume fleeting and fleet Alas,we must say goodbye to the sweet.

Verse 4: Air crackles and hums, inspired divine Pressure of the sound on bones and spine Stare mesmerized, spirits lifted high Enjoying the moment with a contented sigh.

Verse 5: Crowds shout in amazement and in glee Tonight we hope for a new hope to see Let’s all hope for a better tomorrow Let’s light up the sky and sing hooray for the new year to come!
