World War 2 was one of the most devastating wars in history, beginning in 1939 and carrying on until 1945. It spanned across the globe, involving most of the major powers in Europe and Asia. Millions of people perished in the conflict, while many more were injured, displaced, or otherwise affected by the war’s destruction. In total, more than 70 million people were killed in the tragic conflict, making it the most destructive war in world history.
