Caledonian Gladiators Professional Basketball Team Anti-Doping Policy

Policy Statement

The Caledonian Gladiators Professional Basketball Team (CGPT) is committed to providing an environment that values health, fitness and the safety of participants, while respecting the true spirit of basketball and the pursuit of excellence. The CGPT endeavour to operate within the principles of Fair Play and oppose any form of doping.

The CGPT shall require all team personnel, coaches and athletes, to abide by the principles of this policy and comply with the World Anti-Doping Code (the Code) and its corresponding international standards and all applicable laws.

Doping Offences

Doping is any form of cheating in sport that involves the use of illegal performance-enhancing substances or methods. It is strictly prohibited for any team personnel, coach or athlete to knowingly or unknowingly use or condone the use of any prohibited substances or methods, including intravenous micro-dosing.

Infraction Penalties

Athletes who breach this policy may face appropriate penalties, as set out in this policy and in accordance with the Code. Any team personnel, coaches or athletes found in violation of the Code or this policy may have to serve mandatory suspension, fines, and other enforcement measures.

Educational Programs and Testing Protocols

The CGPT will ensure that adequate information and education programs are implemented and communicated to all team personnel, coaches and athletes regularly. Such education programs will outline in detail the global anti-doping rules and regulations, as well as the list of prohibited substances and methods. In addition, adequate training and resources may be provided to ensure ongoing compliance.

The CGPT will ensure proper testing protocols are in place and adhered to, in order to detect any cases of doping and rule out any allegations of cheating. All team personnel, coaches and athletes will be fully aware of their responsibilities with regard to testing and will cooperate fully with any requirements for providing drug test samples.

Review of Policy

The CGPT is committed to the development and implementation of doping-prevention programs which are based on the code and the Code’s corresponding international standards. The CGPT Anti-Doping Policy shall be reviewed on an annual basis, to ensure continual compliance and effectiveness.

Acceptance of Policy

By signing this policy, team personnel, coaches and athletes agree to adhere to the Code, its corresponding international standards, and all applicable laws, and to respect and comply with the CGPT Anti-Doping Policy.
