The International Baccalaureate Primary Years Programme (IBPYP) is an international educational framework designed to develop the skills, attitudes and knowledge needed for children to be successful in a rapidly changing, global world. The IBPYP focuses on inquiry-based learning which encourages children to ask questions, think outside the box, collaborate with their peers and explore topics in depth. Transdisciplinary learning is at the heart of the IBPYP and enables children to think critically and creatively while developing critical life skills such as problem solving, collaboration and open mindedness. Each IBPYP unit of inquiry revolves around a central concept that provides students with an understanding of the world around them. By exploring topics from a variety of angles, children learn how to form meaningful connections between different disciplines and see the world from multiple perspectives. Through this process, children gain an appreciation for what is essential for leading successful, meaningful and productive lives.
