As a Viking, I eat a lot of hearty, nutritious meals. We typically feast on boiled root vegetables and salted meat, such as pork, beef, and game, as well as fish and shellfish. We also eat cheese and bread made from rye or oats.
As for clothing, Vikings wore practical wool garments over linen or cotton undershirts depending on the weather. We also wore cloaks for warmth, as well as animal pelts or fur. For footwear, we usually went barefoot, but wore animal skin boots for protection when necessary.
In addition to gathering food and caring for our families, our daily lives revolved around commerce. In the summer months, we often made sailings and trading missions to foreign lands. In the winter, we would craft items from wood and metal and manufacture textiles. We also had an appreciation for art, music, and storytelling. We often spent time in festive parties in our longhouses.
Lastly, we were a very war-like people. We trained vigorously in hand-to-hand combat with swords, shields, and spears. We took part in raids and skirmishes against neighboring communities, and built longships we could use to sail swiftly and attack.
